No one can ignore the preventive role of regular brushing and flossing for dental issues and protecting oral health in the long run. The ultimate goal of brushing and flossing is removing the bacteria from your mouth and reducing their further trace on your teeth. The best practice is brushing after each meal and snack, especially sugary ones. This is how you can minimize the growth of bacteria. But this seems hard to follow every day.
The more practical suggestion is brushing at least twice a day, in the morning and evening. Probable you have experienced morning breath so far and brushing your teeth in the mornings and before breakfast let you get rid of that. It is important to do the same at the end of the day to clean your mouth from the tiny bits of what you have eaten during the day, and we are talking about the exact bits that create bacteria and break down tooth enamel.
It is not enough to brush your teeth but it is important to spend enough time on that. It is recommended to brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes (120 seconds) each time, for flossing once a day would be sufficient. During brushing it is important to be sure that you have cleaned every aspect, the front, back, and top of each tooth. Don’t forget to brush your tongue at the end of brushing. This is the regular practice that will guarantee your beautiful and healthy smile.
